Jacksonville Lawyer – Living Wills

A living will is a document authorized by statute in which you appoint someone else to make decisions on maintaining life-support if you become too ill, are in a coma, or are certain to die. A Living Will permits you to die with dignity if you are terminally ill and protects your physician or hospital from liability for withdrawing or limiting life support.

This is one example of an Advance Care Directive. Advance care directives are authorizations for another person to act on your behalf in a legal, Health Care, or business situation. There are three types of advance care directives: Power of Attorney, Health Care Surrogate, and Living Will.
